Remittances:
An equivalent amount in Euro, plus applicable charges, may be paid in either at our counters in cash, or may be remitted favoring State Bank of India, Frankfurt Branch (account number 0000716243, BLZ 50330000).

For payment in cash, your Passport in original, along with a copy thereof must be produced if the remittance is the equivalent of EUR 2.500. If the amount being remitted is EUR 10.000 or above, we would require, in addition, satisfactory evidence of source of funds (example: bank statement).

For payment through our account, as indicated above, please write to us after the funds have been sent and provide full details of the remittance proposed to be made, like:
  • Name of beneficiary and his / her account number if available
  • Name of beneficiary's bank and name of the branch
  • Amount to be remitted
  • Currency in which the remittance is to be made
  • Your address
  • Manner in which the remittance is to be effected (by draft through Courier or Registered Post, or by telex or by SWIFT)
Our remittance charges are 0.10% of the amount remitted, subject to a minimum charge of EUR 5 Transmission charges are as under:
  • Registered post : EUR 5
  • By Courier : EUR 15
  • By Telex or SWIFT : EUR 10

Deposits:

We accept Fixed Deposits for a minimum amount of EUR 5.000 and for USD and Pounds 10.000. The minimum period is 1 month.

Premature encashment is not permitted. Interest is payable on simple (non
compounding) basis. Tax, as applicable, is recovered at source.
Interest rates are subject to change from time to time. A deposit, once

Opening of an Account with SBI Frankfurt

SBI Frankfurt maintains current accounts for companies and members of Indian Embassies and Consulates and fixed deposits for anyone, who wants to deposit funds with the Branch.

To open an account you may download the attached account opening form and the signature card. Please fill-up the forms and send them to us by e-mail or fax. Please send the originally signed forms by mail for our files.

Legal Requirements

Beside the properly filled-up forms the following documents are needed to open an account:

For companies:
A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate of Commencement of Business, Memorandum and Articles of Association and the resolution of the Board of Directors to open an account with us. Furthermore a passport copy of the signatories is required.

For individuals:
A passport copy of the account holder and the signatories is needed.
