Introduction
State Bank of India, Frankfurt Branch has been in existence since 1975. We are handling a major portion of both the Indo-German trade, and the Indo-Euro trade. This is due to the fact that the representative responsibilities of Frankfurt Branch include the Scandinavian Countries as well as Austria, and some of the former centralized East-European States. In other European Countries State Bank of India maintains offices like in Italy, Belgium, France and in the U.K. Indeed, State Bank of India is truly well represented and strongly positioned in Europe.

Frankfurt Branch is deemed as an independent credit institution, and is recognized as a full Bank. We are engaged in 'Universal Banking' with focus on corporate business. We enjoy the patronage of almost all major German and many European large Corporates. Besides this a number of 'mittelstands' are working with us for their India related business. We are the only Indian Bank operating in Germany and take pride in, and advantage of, the fact that the State Bank enjoys the largest market share in India.

The Challenges & The Opportunities
The Economic & Monetary Union (EMU) as well as the introduction of the Euro have opened up a much larger unified market, where only the fittest would survive. The opportunities that the EMU is throwing open are unparalleled, and losing out on this development will be unfortunate. The challenges are manifold, and a major repositioning will be required to be done by each, and every one who in future intends to have a counterparty in the Euroland. It is with the intention of exploiting the opportunities, which EMU offers, we have created a Single Window Clearance service for the entire Euroland.
The Advantages
We enjoy locational advantage of being in Frankfurt, the financial capital of both Germany, and the EMU. It is the seat of the European Central Bank, which is shaping the economic and the monetary policy for the entire Euroland. The size of this unified market rivals USA and the Asian markets.

At this time, we are experiencing a revival in Indo-German Trade, and would like to grasp this opportunity to develop further extension of business relationships. As the only Indian bank in Germany we are uniquely positioned to support your efforts. If you discuss projects with us, you will find us simply irresistible!

We shall highly appreciate your contacts to the management as well as to the other officers of the branch.
